Sleepy Knight

В тумане странный образ вдруг может появиться
И ты, его увидев, не бойся, не беги.
Проедет безобидно угрюмый сонный рыцарь
И конь, хромой на три ноги

Заржавленные латы готовы развалиться
Изъедены до дырок стальные сапоги.
Дорог не выбирая, блуждает сонный рыцарь
И конь… и конь, хромой на три ноги

Когда-то на планете о нём гремела слава.
Он в частном поединке любого был сильней.
Был меч его защитой для бедных и для слабых
А конь… а конь был лучшим из коней

Но вот одной колдунье случилось вдруг влюбиться.
«Уйди,» - сказал ей рыцарь «С тобою мы враги»
И стал навеки сонным несчастный этот рыцарь.
А что же конь? А конь хромым на три ноги

Не может ни проснуться и не остановиться
И конь его поныне всё меряет шаги.
Порою возникает в тумане сонный рыцарь
И конь… и конь, хромой на три ноги

In the fog, a strange figure can suddenly appear
And having seen it, do not be afraid, do not run.
The gloomy, sleepy knight will pass harmlessly
And the horse, lame in three legs

Rusty armour ready to fall apart
His steel boots corroded through.
Not choosing his roads, the sleepy knight is wandering
And the horse… and the horse, lame in three legs

Once upon a time his renown thundered in the world.
In personal duels he was stronger than anyone.
His sword was protection for the poor and weak
And the horse… and the horse was the best of horses

But one sorceress happened to suddenly fall in love.
“Go away” the knight said to her, “We are enemies with you”
And this knight became forever sleepy and miserable.
But what about the horse? The horse went lame in three legs

His is unable to wake up or stop
And his horse to this day measures all his steps.
Sometimes the sleepy knight emerges in the fog
And the horse… and the horse, lame in three legs
